How much energy.
Battery capacity tells you how much electricity can be stored. More usable capacity can keep your appliances running for longer.

Your battery holds the energy. Your inverter controls how quickly it can flow. Match both to your home’s everyday needs, the appliances you run together and your overnight charging window.

Your inverter controls how quickly stored electricity can power your home. We check your appliances, charging window and battery size to confirm the right output.

Power tells you how quickly energy can be delivered or charged. More power can support a greater combined load, within the whole system’s limits.
For example, a steady 1 kW load uses 1 kWh in one hour. Actual household demand changes as appliances switch on and off.
ASW HYBRID INVERTERS
Our price list pairs selected inverter models with each battery size. The 6 kW and 8 kW options are from different inverter families.
| Feature | H-S2: 3.68 / 5 / 6 kW | SH: 8 / 10 kW |
|---|---|---|
| Rated AC output | 3.68 / 5 / 6 kW by model | 8 / 10 kW by model |
| Maximum battery charge / discharge | 5 kW on all three H-S2 models | 8 kW on ASW008K-SH 10 kW on ASW010K-SH |
| Dimensions | 483 × 455 × 193.5 | 484 × 679 × 230 |
| Weight | 25 kg | 34.5 kg |
| Enclosure / cooling | IP66 · natural convection | IP66 · smart cooling |
| Solar trackers (MPPTs) | 2 | 3 |
| Maximum solar array | 6.18 / 7.5 / 9 kWp by model | 16 / 20 kWp by model |
| Monitoring | Solplanet App with Wi-Fi stick | Solplanet App; Wi-Fi / LAN dongle options |
Output depends on battery charge, battery module count, operating conditions and the installed configuration. Maximum PV array size is a design limit, not a guaranteed generation figure. The 3.68 kW H-S2 model is ASW3680H-S2; 5 kW is ASW5000H-S2; 6 kW is ASW6000H-S2.
A BETTER FIT
Daily energy use starts the conversation. It doesn’t tell us everything about the inverter you need.
Cooking, heating, EV charging and other loads can overlap. We review the power needed at busy times, rather than size the inverter from annual consumption alone.
The battery needs enough charging time within your cheaper tariff window. Battery input power, household demand and any EV charging all affect what can be achieved overnight.
We review the incoming supply, existing equipment and relevant grid requirements. Your final proposal confirms the appropriate installation and any network permissions needed.
A future EV, heat pump or solar installation can change the system you need. Tell us what you’re planning so we can discuss storage and output together.
SOLAR & BACKUP
A hybrid inverter can work with compatible solar and provide a dedicated backup output. Both need the right installation design.
Both ASW families have inputs for compatible solar panels. Separate MPPT trackers manage different panel strings. We check the array, existing inverter, voltage, current and connections before confirming a design.
Connection to an existing compatible solar system adds £300 to our battery package, with any additional upgrades agreed separately.
Our optional EPS setup powers selected essential circuits through a dedicated backup consumer unit. It is quoted separately. It does not automatically power every circuit in your home.
The H-S2’s rated EPS output is 5 kVA; the 8 and 10 kW SH models have rated EPS outputs of 8 and 10 kVA respectively. The battery configuration, stored charge and connected loads determine practical output and duration.
